Jack has been creating fine art for about 6 years in various medium. His paintings have evolved from various travels in the United States, Canada, Greece and Italy (soon will be spending some time in France). The paintings represent an intimacy with each location visited and his desire is that that intimacy can be shared with you. Please feel free to share your feelings of each of the paintings via e-mail and in that way the journey can be shared and communicated. In that way his philosophy of art as the most perfect way of communication can be carried on. ART IS COMMUNICATION. IT IS THE INTIMATE JOURNEY THAT MAKES LIFE EXCITING.

Jack is now spending most of his time in doing either painting "en plein air" or doing studio work painting in the traditions of the "Old Masters"
Our latest travels have included Southwest United States, Greece, Italy, and France. All producing many studies and paintings (some sold in each country on the spot). Nancy says, "When I get excited about a painting, I'm anxious to see how it will turn out. I often lose all sense of time."
Although Nancy has worked in acrylic, colored pencil and watercolor, her favorite medium is oil. She finds oil the most satisfying and its bright colors inspiring.
Nancy's recently completed works include such wide-ranging themes as the Ohio Amish fields, the Welsh countryside, flowers of Italy and the Southwest, boats on the Mediterranian, cowboys and children. Traveling with her husband, Jack (also a painter) provides many interesting subjects. Recent trips to Greece, Italy and France have resulted in many new works.
"I find things which are beautiful, old, peaceful and colorful to be the most inspiring. Children, especially, touch my heart. That's why I enjoy teaching art to them in an after-school program near us."
Nancy is a juried artist with the Arizona Art Alliance, is a member of both Art League West and the PebbleCreek Art Club. She has studied under Chaarles Gruppe and Jim Biggers. Local instructor Fred Alves "has had the biggest impact on my oil painting. I still study with him regularly because there is still so much to learn." She has also worked with Grace Haverty, Lorretta Musgrave and Milton Lewis.
Nancy has shown her work at the Apache Junction Art Show, the Mesa Art Festival, the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Garfield Gallery, the Glendale and Peoria Art Exhibits and the Avondale City Hall World Fest exhibit.
My art is a very important part of me - it give me a chance to express who I am and to portray the world as I find it."
